Call Board: Auditions for Emerald City Players- Six Dance Lessons

Author: dfilas  //  Category: Call Board

Sunday, January 17 and Monday, January 18 at 7:00pm at the Emerald City Theater, 6799 Dublin Center Dr, in the Dublin Village Shopping Center.

In roles originated by Uta Hagen and David Hyde Pierce, this two-character comedy opens as a aging but still formidable woman hires an acerbic dance instructor to give her lessons in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. Antagonism between a gay man and the widow of a Southern Baptist minister gives way to profound compatibility as they swing dance, tango, foxtrot and cha-cha while sharing more than dance steps.

Readings from the script. Bring Headshot and Resume if available (not mandatory).
For more information, please visit our website http://www.emeraldcityplayers.com or contact the director, Chris Hallam at 614-245-0856 or challam@studentlife.osu.edu.

Call Board: Audition for CCT’s The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood

Author: dfilas  //  Category: Call Board

Monday, January 25 & Tuesday, January 26, 7:00pm
Callbacks - Wednesday, January 27th, 7:00pm
CCT STUDIO - 177 East Naghten St. Columbus, OH 43215

Directed by Ryan Scarlata; All adult actors (18+ and HS graduate) are paid! A frantically funny, Monty Python-esque retelling of the classic tale. This time around Robin Hood, in his never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounters a lovely damsel-in-distress (oddly obsessed with skin conditions); an ever-scheming sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bulls eye; a gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe; and a good-natured “Town’s Guy” who manages to make his way into every scene, whether he belongs there or not. Combine them with an expandable band of spoon-wielding Merry Men whose collective IQs equal six, and you’ve got an irreverent jaunt through Sherwood Forest you won’t soon forget!

Actors should bring a current resume and a photo (snapshot is fine) and dress comfortably. Readings will be from the script. Scripts are available at our offices (177 E. Naghten St.) and may be checked out for 3 days with a $20 deposit.

Adult/ Teen - ROBIN HOOD (Dashing hero with a large ego); LADY MARIAN (Lovely damsel in distress); PRINCE JOHN (The head bad guy); SHERIFF OF NOTTINGHAM (Prince John’s cohort in crime); TOWN’S GUY (The local-yokel); LADY IN WAITING (Lady Marian’s attendant); FRIAR TUCK (Holy relic); WILL SCARLET (The wise guy); LITTLE JOHN (Big lummox with an I. Q. of six); FAWNING LADIES; ALLAN ADALE (Slightly brighter than Little John) GUARD; RICH MAN; POOR LADY WITH A BABY
