About Theatre Vault
Author: Andrew HartleySomething’s rotten in the state of Central Ohio theatre.
Our area boasts a vital, exciting theatre community. Audiences can, within the next week alone, go enjoy CATCO’s critically acclaimed Almost Maine, witness Tony award-winning Spring Awakening at the Palace, giggle at Southern Theatre’s Menopause the Musical, dive into edgy Sketch You Can Believe In with Full Frontal Nudity, and sample Shadowbox’s omnipresent offerings.
So, what’s the problem?
Central Ohio, even with its thriving performing arts scene, lacks an up-to-date one-stop-shopping place to find theatre information.
Until now.
We proudly open Central Ohio’s Theatre Vault! On this site, you can not only access performance information, crew calls, and audition listings, but you will also be able to enjoy theatre reviews… sometimes more than one review for a single show, allowing you to compare several different opinions about select productions. We also will offer information about area classes and workshops, and Theatre Vault will publish informational articles on subjects you care about: how to prepare for an audition, how to format your resume, featured companies, national SAG/AFTRA updates, and more.
Sound a bit ambitious?
Well, hold on to your cod pieces. Although Theatre Vault will begin in Central Ohio, we plan to expand, creating a network of regional Theatre Vaults nationally.
Now we’d like to hear from you. What do you want on this site? Tax advice for artists? Information about rehearsal spaces? How to make giant bunraku puppets using newspaper, glue, and chicken wire? Let us know!
